We can always count on Dua Lipa for a head-turning red carpet look—but usually, we can recognize her instantly. However, when she stepped on to the red carpet at the 2022 Grammy Awards, we had to do a double-take. The “Don’t Start Now” singer traded in her usual rich espresso hair for pin-straight, bleached-blonde hair down to her waist, with dark, grungy roots.
Lipa, who is attending the awards as a presenter, teased the look on her Instagram story prior to the awards, tagging her longtime hairstylist Chris Appleton. We can only assume the look is a wig considering she posted a series of photos as her usual brunette self yesterday, but who knows? Miracles can happen.

The look may be a nod to Donatella Versace, who has made extra-long blonde hair her signature for decades. Lipa is also wearing a vintage Versace dress, complete with sheer panels, a harness, and a gigantic gold necklace—it’s actually extremely similar to the “bondage” dress Ms. Versace wore to the 1992 Met Gala. Bvlgari rings, a golden chrome manicure, and a vampy brick lipstick complete Lipa’s sexy look.
