Since day one Supergoop’s driving force has been to reinvent sunscreen and make it something everyone can use daily. The brand’s newest launch, Every. Single. Face. Watery Lotion takes that mission even further, as it’s been thoughtfully designed to be used by, well, every single face.

The brand is already considered by many to be the destination for the most universally appealing sunscreen, and the Watery Lotion claims to be the most wearable formula yet—so consider it the crème de la crème of sunscreen you’ll actually use. It has an “undetectable” texture and cooling feeling, and is suitable for all skin types, including oily and acne prone. The formula has SPF 50 protection and—thanks to clean chemical filters—is packed with skin-loving ingredients like cress sprout extract to support the skin barrier and wild butterfly gingerroot extract to protect from free radicals.

While most of Supergoop’s best-selling sunscreens have some other function—Glowscreen and Unseen double as primers, and the Daily Dose Serum is your daily vitamin C—Every. Single. Face. is just a sunscreen, so it’s a little more wearable for a wide range of people, such as men or those who don’t wear makeup—plus it’s easier to fit into your existing routine. As the name suggests, there’s no white cast either, making it suitable for all skin tones.

We put these bold claims to the test and had seven Glamour staffers with different skin types and tones test-drive the new product. Read on for our honest reviews.

Every. Single. Face. Watery Lotion SPF50 not only comes in the cutest bottle (yes, I’m not afraid to admit that cute packaging makes me often enjoy using a product more) but has a scent that brings me back to childhood, when my mom would apply sunscreen on my face—and that’s a good thing! It feels carefree and like summer, but the lotion doesn’t leave a white cast, absorbs fast, but leaves my skin hydrated. Plus, as someone who likes an SPF above 30, this one is stellar.

Okay, I’m officially obsessed! I’ve been using this daily for a few weeks now, and I love the overall texture and finish, but the glow is unmatched. I’ve received so many compliments when going makeup-free and only wearing this SPF. Yes, it’s a confidence boost, but it’s more exciting to finally have a sunscreen that agrees with my skin.

I am a horrible beauty editor and rarely wear SPF if I’m not headed to the beach—I’m horrified of exacerbating breakouts, and most sunscreens feel too heavy and bulky under my makeup. This one, however, feels like water—as the name suggests—and has a serum consistency similar to K-beauty sunscreens. It adds a bit of dew but doesn’t feel greasy, and doesn’t slip around under my foundation (I would recommend using a sponge, though, as I had some minor pilling with a brush). I love the cute little bottle and can def see myself actually making this a part of my everyday routine.

I usually wear SPF every day, so I pay a ton of attention to my sunscreen—and after a few weeks, I like this one! Although it does leave me a little greasier than my usual product, it leaves less of a white cast on my (admittedly super-pale) skin. The best part is the scent, which evokes a day at the beach without smelling too strong or artificial. I’ll keep using this one for a while.

I’ve been getting some intense face lasering done the past few months to get rid of acne scarring. Factor in my prescription tretinoin use, and it’s basically a legal requirement for me to wear sunscreen. I need ample protection and won’t wear anything under SPF 30, so the beefed up 50 protection works nicely for me. My skin tone is tan (hello, white cast!), and my eyes are super sensitive, so I’m a true Goldilocks when it comes to sunscreens. This formula went on so smoothly, and the texture isn’t too tacky or chalky. I really like to pile on the sunscreen but got zero white cast. My skin feels like it can actually breathe, and my eyes suffered no irritation. My only quibble is the smell, which is initially pretty strong and distinct but subsides after it’s rubbed in.

Supergoops new sunscreen is refreshingly simple. The formula has a lightweight, watery texture that absorbs quickly and feels weightless on skin. (It’s unlike Glowscreen, one my go-tos, which feels more like a primer, with its dewy finish.) There is a faint white cast when you first apply this product, but it disappears almost instantly, making it a great everyday SPF that your partner will probably want to “borrow” on the daily. The li’l bottle is sized just right to be travel-friendly too.

I’ll admit. When I found out this product was described as (and named!) watery, I was skeptical. It conjured memories of old sunscreens splattering and spilling all over my clothes, bags, and hands, leaving sticky white residue behind. But after my first use, my mind was completely changed. Yes, it’s a watery consistency, but the packaging ensures a clean application (there’s a tiny tip that dispenses little pea-sized amounts), and I never knew sunscreen that applied like a serum was actually what I needed in life. It wears completely transparent and sinks in instantly. No white cast shows up on my tanned skin at all—and there’s no tacky residue, just a nice glowy sheen.
