The Devil Wears Prada still has a chokehold on all of us, 16 years later. Case in point: Anne Hathaway is living out her Andy Sachs fantasies sitting beside none other than Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour during New York Fashion Week. That’s not all: Hathaway was wearing an outfit that’s eerily similar to her character’s final look in the movie. If you couldn’t tell by all the low-rise jeans and shoulder bags, it’s 2006 again—and this moment is simply another confirmation.

During the Michael Kors Spring 2023 show on September 14, Hathaway and Wintour—who’s widely believed to be the inspiration behind the fictional Miranda Priestly—were seated next to each other in the front row next to Serena Williams and New York City mayor, Eric Adams. Could Williams and Adams be stand-ins for the film’s favorite supporting characters, Emily, Miranda’s fashion-obsessed first assistant, and Nigel, the editor-in chief’s right-hand man?

Just like her on-screen counterpart, Anne Hathaway wore a black turtleneck under a brown collared jacket to the Michael Kors show. Unlike Sachs, the WeCrashed actor’s style is high fashion and flawless—her character’s old leather jacket was swapped out for a chocolate crocodile trench coat for the IRL fashion show. Hathaway’s tousled bangs and half-up hair style was another not-so-subtle nod to Andy Sachs (a character she almost missed out on playing).
