No one does a theme like Beyoncé.
The “Break My Soul” singer attended the “Harlem Nights”-themed 5th Annual Wearable Art Gala at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on Sunday, October 23, wearing a fitted black Gucci gown with white sequins across the bust and two strategically placed silver stars. Bey, who was an honorary chair for the event, paired the gown with ruffled pink satin opera gloves, black cat eye sunglasses, and silver statement earrings. She carried a black cylinder bag and wore her hair side-parted in loose, soft curls synonymous with Old Hollywood. See the full look here.
The Wearable Art Gala was co-founded by Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, and her stepfather, Richard Lawson. The “Harlem Nights” theme honored fashion from the 1920s to ’50s, with the films Harlem Nights and The Cotton Club serving as the inspiration.
Beyoncé, who plans to go on a tour for her latest album, Renaissance, next year, attended the event with her husband Jay-Z. The rapper wore an outfit fit for the theme, too: a black velvet double-breasted jacket paired with black pants and a black bowtie. But the fashionable couple weren’t the only ones showing up and out. The Bailey sisters, Chloe and Halle, as well as Keke Palmer, Angela Bassett, Issa Rae, Kelly Rowland, and Quinta Brunson all arrived in their sparkliest fits.
