I feel like on some level, everyone has trouble finding the perfect festive outfit for the holidays. And while I would prefer that it was sartorially acceptable for me, a 27-year-old adult woman, to show up to a soiree in my Christmas teddy bear sweatshirt that my grandma once handed down to me (Yes, this is a real sweatshirt, and yes, I wear it all the time.), it’s just not going to happen. Putting together a festive holiday outfit isn’t as daunting as a task as it might seem, though. In fact, there are actually myriad holiday outfit color combos that will do the trick—you just have to add a little bit of festive flavor. Whether you’re headed to a holiday office party or just want to envelop yourself in the vibe of the holidays, there’s a holiday color combination calling your name (with some jingle bells in the background, probably).
Of course, you can just go ahead and don red and green (and you’ll see a very street-style-approved way of doing that below), but there are also so many other color combinations that will give your outfit a festive spirit. You do not have to go all the way with your holiday ensembles if you don’t want to. A little touch of festivity here and there can be the perfect way to keep your own personal style while adhering to the magical feelings of the holidays.
Below, you’ll find 10 different holiday outfit color combinations (Yes, including red and green)—and ways to shop all of them. These chic street-style outfits from fashion-forward influencers are all very different, sure, but they do have one thing in common: Each of the ensembles is perfect for the holidays. Some are more obviously holiday-inspired, while others you could wear pretty much any time of year. However you choose to rock these color combos, though, you’re sure to have just the right amount of holiday spirit.

There’s nothing more chic tan mixing different shades of whites, creams and tans together to create a monochromatic look with some depth to it.
Ribbed Turtleneck Sweater
To achieve this look, start with a great basic, then mold everything else around it. For instance, this chunky vanilla sweater from Forever 21 has the perfect shape to it. Plus, it provides a canvas for styling. You can throw on a faux leather vest on top for a sporty look, or go with a faux fur-trimmed trench for something posher. Then, complete the look with these incredible cream knee-high boots that you’ll wear again and again.
While there are plenty of ways to dress for the holidays that don’t necessarily include pairing red and green together, it’s still a classic—and deserves a place in this round-up.
Fore Plaid Pleated Mini Skirt
Rather than pairing red pants with a green top, though, try something fun, like a red and green plaid. Cue this perfect pleated skirt from Fore!
Fun and flirty, the combination of pink and red is a cheekier take on holiday vibes. These two hues are perfect for color-blocking, so go ahead and mix and match as you please.
Shoko Sweater Dress
And of course, STAUD’s iconic two-toned Shoko Sweater Dress comes in a gorgeous red and pink color combo.
For folks who love wearing red around the holidays but want to stick to a secondary color that’s a bit more neutral, opt for red and charcoal this season. The two hues pair perfectly, and there are endless ways to style them.
Straight-Leg Bi-Stretch Wool Pant
Luckily, J. Crew has the perfect pants for this preppy-adjacent look. Snag these tartan trousers first…
Crosshatch Tailored Blazer
…And style with this heather gray blazer from Topshop. Perfect!
Going for a glam look this season? Winter white and sparkly silver make an excellent combo. You’ll look like a gorgeous, snowy day come to life.
Cotton Blend Bouclé Cardigan
Start by finding the perfect white sweater. Bonus points if there are some glitzy buttons to tie in your sparkly bottom half.
The Kicker Sequin Flare Hem Leggings
A sequined skirt is a great choice, but I won’t lie—these sequined flare pants have my attention.
Pairing green and black together is the perfect option for late night holiday soirees or parties that are a bit more elegant. You’ll still look festive, just a bit more understated.
Lace Slip Mini Dress
If a layer of black mesh underneath isn’t your thing, you can play it a bit safer by pairing a gorgeous green dress—like this silky slip—with all-black accessories and a black wool coat. Timeless!
Take your favorite red pieces and add a little brown (We love a faux fur coat!) to cozy up a sexy colorway. The bold red will stay the focal point of your ensemble, but the brown will tone it down just a bit.
Allure Midi Dress
Red! Hot! This red midi dress is sure to serve you well through the holidays and far beyond. A little black dress is good, but a little red dress is always better.
Oversized Faux Fur Trench
This faux fur coat looks ridiculously cozy—and can add a bit of an elevated (Read: bougie) vibe to your holiday ensembles.
Pink and green was one of my favorite color combinations as a tween, and it actually works really well for the holidays. If you still feel too summery, you can always add in a deeper green or red accessory to offset the lighter hues.
Brandi Dress
If styling the two hues together feels hard to coordinate, go for a piece that already incorporates both, like this dress from Reformation that you can definitely wear year-round.
If you’re into the green and black combination, but want something that’s a little more glam, opt for green and silver this holiday season. Dark, velvet green goes so well with bright, sparkly silver, so this is really a color combo with which you can’t go wrong.
Hart Jumpsuit
An emerald velvet suit or dress—like this velvety jumpsuit—will really pop when paired with sparkling silver accessories.
Rhinestone Purse
Amazon has soooo many glitzy accessories at the moment, but this blingy bag
has to be one of my favorites. It looks so similar to Cult Gaia’s $400 style, but costs just $30.
Forget red, white and blue—for the holidays, you can’t beat a classic red, white and black ensemble. The entire vibe is relatively neutral until you add that pop of red. It’s festive in all the right ways.
Red Tulle Skirt
This look is so much easier than you’d think! Pair a white sweater or blouse you already own with a new, Nutcracker ballet-inspired red tulle skirt. Cinch it with a black waist belt or pair with a black handbag and heels and you’re set!
