Step aside, Austin Butler. There’s a new Elvis in town.
Back in September, it was announced that Euphoria star Jacob Elordi would be the next actor to step into Elvis’ blue suede shoes in Priscilla, the upcoming biopic based on Priscilla Presley’s 1985 memoir Elvis and Me. Directed by Sofia Coppola, the A24 film also stars Mare of Easttown’s Cailee Spaeny and will tell the story of Priscilla’s life from 15 to 27 years old.
Elvis reportedly met his ex-wife Priscilla in 1959 when she was just 14 years old and he was 24. The former couple married in 1967 and divorced in 1973, four years before his death in 1977. “It was really important for me to have the same actress playing Priscilla at those different stages of her life, and I think Cailee can pull it off,” Coppola recently told Vogue. “She’s such a strong actress, and she also looks very young.”
In a new photo from the Toronto film set, Elordi can be seen wearing a white blazer with black trim and the crooner’s signature pompadour. At six foot five, Elordi practically towers over Spaeny, who is wearing a very ’60s polka dot two-piece set and cat-eye sunglasses with her hair teased to the heavens.

While this is the first look at Jacob Elordi as Elvis in Priscilla, this is not the first time he’s channeled the “Hound Dog” singer. Back in 2020, Elordi and ex-girlfriend Kaia Gerber went Instagram official by dressing as Elvis and Priscilla for Halloween. In the photos, which can be seen here, Elordi and Gerber recreated a look from the rock n’ roll couple’s 1967 Las Vegas wedding.
Fun fact: Just a few months after Gerber and Elordi split around November 2021, the model made her red carpet couple debut with Elvis star Austin Butler at the 2022 Met Gala… Only time will tell if Elordi dives as deeply into the role as Butler, who kept Elvis’ accent long after filming. At least we know he looks the part.
