Aside from the Schiaparelli and Fendi, Cardi B was seated front row at four other shows during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.
For Thom Browne I was glad to see her not go down the school uniform route.
Tweed has always been a consistent mark of sophistication and elegance, so I was excited to see how this piece drew inspiration from classic sartorial codes and was reworked to create a look that was fused with modernity for Cardi B, who is in the best fashion form of her life.
Her stylist Kollin Carter share on Instagram, “I couldn’t seem to keep my eyes off of this oversized tweed embroidered men’s blazer off in the corner. I decided to detour and have the amazing team deconstruct it into a two piece that was tailored, tucked in, and sewn together to appear as a once piece blazer and skirt suit.”
Proving that she is ahead of the game, the usual doggy bag gave way to a new Thom Browne clock face bag, which was given its debut during the Fall 2023 ready-to-wear show, along with the gold headpiece.
For the Balenciaga show we got a twofer, as the elaborate white tulle coat revealed a beautiful embellished catsuit accented with an oversized bow.
Stepping out for the Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture show, I have to say I’m more enamoured by her kinky straight hair, as the catsuit was giving me Fashion Nova vibes. I’m sure the retailer has a dupe of this catsuit on their virtual shelves already.
We first covered a Gaurav Gupta look back in 2013, but Cardi B but the designer on the worldwide map, so her invite to the designer’s second showing during Haute Couture Fashion Week was a given.
Much like her 2023 Grammy dress, the look was imbued with plenty of drama thanks to the duvet style bolero which she opted to style into a hood.
