Awards season is now in full swing, and the glitz and glamour has begun lighting up the red carpet. Cue the stars who stole the show at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, adorned in haute couture from top designers in a bid to make the best dressed lists, and ready for a glamorous night of highs at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles.
Following in the wake of the recent Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards, the Emmy Awards celebrated some of the biggest performers and shows of the past season, and we’re here to honour the best dressed celebrities in turn.
There were many key moments to remember from the much-awaited awards ceremony. Invited guests and viewers at home shed tears with the multiple sclerosis (MS) embattled Christina Applegate as she presented the award for Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. They laughed along with Pedro Pascal’s hilariously censored presentation for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. And longtime fans of medical drama Grey’s Anatomy were treated to a star-studded reunion featuring O.G. showrunners Ellen Pompeo, James Pickens Jr, Chandra Wilson, Justin Chambers, and even Katherine Heigl, in light of the show’s upcoming 20th season.
While initially planned for September, the awards ceremony was instead postponed following the events of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. Taking into account all the postponements, fashion fiends and trend spotters now have a full month of red carpet celebrations and stylish designer pieces to look forward to.
The first celebrity to step into the spotlight was Jessica Chastain, who appeared bright and stunning in a lime Gucci dress. Next up, Ayo Edebiri, who took home the Best Supporting Actress trophy for her work on The Bear, attended the event wearing a corseted black leather dress by Louis Vuitton. Dressed in Loewe, Aubrey Plaza also made a chic arrival, her structured gown an architectural feat that pushed the style envelope in an interesting fashion.
