Austin Butler attended the press conference for his new film, ‘The Bikeriders,’ in Sydney, Australia today, making a fitting sartorial choice for the occasion.
Posing next to a Harley Davidson motorcycle, Austin wore a Harley Davidson t-shirt and a vintage Harley Davidson leather jacket.
While this might seem overly thematic—akin to wearing a tennis dress for a tennis movie or donning pink for a Barbie film press tour—it felt appropriate given the film’s focus on a Midwestern motorcycle club.
Though some might recall Joey from ’Friends’ overloading on Porsche gear to appear as a Porsche owner, this comparison doesn’t quite fit Austin’s case. His choice of attire felt more like a respectful nod to the film’s subject rather than an over-the-top costume.
It’s unlikely that Austin will exclusively wear vintage Harley Davidson leather jackets throughout the press tour, as we know how much the actor loves his Saint Laurent and Gucci suits.
Nor is it expected that he and his co-star, Jodie Comer, will channel Posh and Becks with matching leather boiler suits at the world premiere—although that would certainly add an element of fun to their promotional activities.
Instead, his look at the press conference can be seen as a one-time homage to the iconic motorcycle brand, enhancing the film’s authentic vibe.
