Featuring in our Summer 2024 issue, Manolo Blahnik fuses architectural elegance with artistic flair for the shoe of the summer.
An ode to his enduring love affair with art and architecture, MANOLO BLAHNIK’S Summer ‘24 collection is a symphony of sculptural silhouettes. Think stark styles with eye-catching graphic crisscrossing, undulating curves and a sculptural new heel. A master of both form and fabric, expect colourful accents and playful cut-outs, whilst natural rattan adds a sculptural relief. Inspired by the gothic and belle époque periods, droplet-shaped glass stones, brilliant baguette buckles and butter-soft bows elevate immediate classics with a ‘Manolo’ twist. Meanwhile, creativity and craftsmanship lie at the heart of the collection with hand-painted prints and to-die-for textiles, culminating in a hand-painted botanical print for Summer’s Hangisi, with further florals coming in through a dramatic rose lace. In a love letter to all things dance, Manolo also looked to exquisite costumes from the 1913 production of Nijinsky’s The Rite of Spring, in turn conjuring feather-light straps and evocative swirls which pirouette across block-toe shapes available in a primary colour palette. To finish off the collection, an elegant new bridal edit, offering styles in satin, lace and leather adorned with graceful bows and sparkling buckles, usher you down the aisle. With impeccable craftsmanship and daring silhouettes, Manolo Blahnik’s done it again – but that’s no surprise. Get a pair while you can.
