First The Idea Of You, then A Family Affair, now Lonely Planet. Hollywood’s over-40 A-list actors continue to win the affections of beefy younger men, with Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth being the latest romantic pair.
Netflix just gave us a first look at Dern, 57, and Hemsworth, 34 in the unexpected love story, and based on these sets alone, we know it’s going to a gorgeous film if nothing else.

What is Lonely Planet about?
According to Netflix, the story goes something like this: “At a retreat in Morocco, a woman meets a young man whose acquaintanceship evolves into an intoxicating, life-altering love affair.”
The movie’s Netflix landing page specifies that Katherine Loewe (Dern) is a newly-single novelist who hopes that a writing retreat can cure her writer’s block. On the retreat, she meets Owen Brophy (Hemsworth), who um, gives her something to write about.

Who is making Lonely Planet?
The film is written and directed by Susannah Grant, a successful screenwriter whose credits include Pocahontas, Ever After, and Erin Brockovich.
