While the Venice Film Festival premiere of ‘Wolfs’ may have been dominated by big names like George and Amal Clooney, Cate Blanchett, and Brad Pitt, it was leading lady Amy Ryan who truly stole the show for me.
The moment the actress stepped onto the red carpet in her Alexis Mabille Spring 2021 Haute Couture pink gown, I got goosebumps.
Amid a sea of darker hues that evening, Amy’s choice was a refreshing standout. As we saw from Cate Blanchett’s look, the late-night premiere lighting drained the detail from every black gown on the carpet.
Amy, however, cleverly sidestepped this issue with her choice of a vibrant pink. Not only did the colour pop beautifully, but the gown’s dramatic pleated bodice added an element of architectural interest that set her apart from the more subdued looks.
Now, I know peplums aren’t for everyone—some might argue they’re outdated or overly fussy. But on Amy, this particular peplum framed her silhouette so delicately, enhancing her natural elegance without overwhelming her. The bodice overall added just the right amount of flair look.
Complementing her gown, Amy styled her look with a Judith Leiber pink clutch and silver Jimmy Choo sandals.
The Hollywood glamour was completed with a chic retro bob and bold red lips that stood out beautifully against her luminous complexion. This thoughtful styling choice not only highlighted her features but also added a classic, timeless quality to her overall appearance.
Without a doubt, Amy’s look was one of the highlights of the festival for me.
