The stars were out in full force for the Kering Foundation’s Third Annual Caring for Women Dinner in New York, and the red carpet was graced with an array of looks that highlighted both elegance and personality. Here’s a rundown of the rest of the celebrity ensembles from the evening who joined those dressed in Balenciaga and Gucci.
Fringe Flair
The Julianne Moore we recognise outside of film festivals is back in black wearing a Bottega Veneta Resort 2025 dress. While simple in colour, the dress came alive with intricate fringe detailing that added a sense of movement and flair. She completed the look with a Bottega Veneta Knot clutch, keeping things cohesive yet chic. This look was an exercise in understated sophistication, where texture took center stage.
Sheer Elegance in Nina Ricci
Sure, we’ve seen a lot of sheer dresses lately, but Ashley Graham managed to make the trend feel fresh. Her Nina Ricci halter neck dress from the Spring 2024 collection may have looked more transparent than expected under the glare of flash photography, but the result was still stunning. The dress perfectly blended sexiness with elegance, making it one of her best red-carpet looks to date. Ashley’s confidence radiated through the sheer fabric, demonstrating that she knows how to own her style choices, even when they come with unexpected surprises.
Finding a Sophisticated Balance
Lauren Sánchez has often been a polarising figure in terms of style, but at this event, she made a case for her evolving fashion sense. Wearing an Oscar de la Renta gown, she leaned into a more refined direction without sacrificing her personal flair. While the skin-tone layer wasn’t a perfect match, it was a minor misstep in an otherwise good look. It seems like her stylists are guiding her down a more sophisticated path – at her request I have been told – and this gown, with its soft elegance, showed she’s on the right road.
Effortless Elegance
Sometimes, simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, and Priyanka Chopra is a prime example of this. Her Saint Laurent halter silk and lace dress from the Pre-Fall 2024 collection was the epitome of classic elegance. With Bulgari jewels as the perfect complement, she effortlessly exuded grace, showing us that she knows how to nail timeless beauty.
Timeless Elegance
While I might not always gravitate toward dark hues for Viola Davis, there’s no denying the elegance she brought to the event in her McQueen floral-embroidered dress. Styled with Pomellato jewels, Viola looked regal and poised, her presence and her speech at the event, was as commanding as always. The intricate detailing of the dress added a subtle, romantic element to an otherwise dark colour palette. It may not be my top pick for her, but she carried it off with undeniable class.
Plunging into Saint Laurent
When Evan Ross hit the red carpet, his daring look made a clear statement. With a plunging neckline on his Saint Laurent tank top, Evan embraced a bold menswear trend that may or may not catch on. The look had all the signature Saint Laurent edge and drama, and Evan wore it with confidence.
The Queen of Versace
There’s little to add when Donatella Versace steps out in her own Atelier Versace designs, except to say, “Bellissima!” Donatella remains the queen of her own brand, embodying the sensuality, glamour, and drama that defines Versace. As always, she was a vision of bold luxury, reminding everyone why she remains one of the most iconic figures in fashion.
