Rihanna attends the launch of Fenty Hair exclusively at Selfridges

Rihanna has once again proven that when it comes to her brand, she shows up with style and swagger. This week, the music icon-turned-beauty mogul attended the launch of Fenty Hair at Selfridges London.

Robe Drama

For her arrival Rihanna sported a Jacquemus coat from the Fall 2024 collection, designed to resemble an oversized bathrobe with an open neckline and off-the-shoulders silhouette. It’s clear the off-the-shoulder robe trend is her current go-to, following her Alaïa moment during New York Fashion Week.

For me, this look triggers a little anxiety—especially with that neckline. As someone who’s prone to catching a cold the second a breeze hits my chest, the design makes me want to reach for a scarf. The robe’s plunging neckline has been modified, so much so that it teetered on the edge of a wardrobe malfunction, but Rihanna owned it as only she can.

Her Amina Muaddi satin champagne mules and gold drop earrings tied the look together.

Galliano Glamour

Rihanna’s second outfit, however, was a total win. Changing into a John Galliano Spring 2006 beige and brown ruffled dress, layered with a beige camisole, she brought the kind of old-school glamour we’ve been craving from her. This dress, with its delicate ruffles and rich tones, exuded elegance and sophistication without sacrificing her edge.

This is the Rihanna we want to see more of—elevated, glamorous, and still true to her unique style. This Galliano look is one of her best in recent memory.

Do you agree that from this fashion doubleheader, that Rihanna’s ruffled Galliano dress was the clear winner, outshining the more daring Jacquemus look?

While she pulls off bold risks like no other, it’s the glamorous moments that leave the lasting impression for me.
