After weeks in the dark, with understated looks on her press tour for ‘Nightbitch’, Amy Adams surprised us all at the 2024 Academy Museum Gala by shelving her usual black ensembles in favour of a much-needed burst of colour. The actress arrived in a gorgeous pink strapless gown by Prabal Gurung, reminding us that she still knows how to serve playful elegance.
The pink hue of the gown was divine against her fair skin, giving her a fresh and radiant glow. And I’m not sure if she has enriched her hair colour since the ‘Nightbitch’ London premiere, but even her hair is looking more radiant here, adding even more warmth to the overall look.
Amy styled the gown with statement David Webb jewelry, ensuring that her signature love for bold accessories wasn’t left behind.
The only downside to this otherwise stellar ensemble? The length of the dress. Surprisingly, considering this is an Atelier Prabal Gurung creation made specifically for her, the skirt was too long, slightly detracting from the overall polish of the look. While the extra fabric didn’t ruin the effect, it was a disappointing flaw in an otherwise near-perfect outing.
Despite the minor issue, this is easily one of Adams’ best red carpet looks this year, and a refreshing departure from her recent darker wardrobe choices.
