On Friday, Kelly Rowland and Beyonce brought their star power, rallying support for Kamala Harris at a high-energy event in their native Texas. Introduced by their mother, Tina Knowles, the duo declared that the country was on the “brink of history.”
Kelly delivered a spirited speech, emphasizing the power of voting and sharing that she had cast her ballot two days earlier. She rallied the crowd with, “We are grabbing back the pen. Houston, you already had a hand in creating ‘Destiny.’ So do what you do and do this thing again.” The audience loved it, and Beyonce’s delayed reaction to Kelly’s clever reference to Destiny’s Child was a charming moment.
Giving us our third oversized suit of the week, following looks by Paz Vega and Hailey Bieber, the singer wore a grey striped Fear of God Spring 2025 suit, paired with an AMIRI shirt with cuffs long enough to turn up, and red tie (a blue one might have been more on message).
The suit was big, but for me it was perfectly in proportion, which is the only way to successfully pull off this trend in my opinion.
Beyonce, who we hear from much in a speaking capacity, even her Instagram posts are captionless, wasn’t as animated as Kelly, but her message was equally impactful. “I’m not here as a celebrity. I’m not here as a politician. I’m here as a mother—a mother who cares about the world our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we are not divided,” she said.
She wore a sleek black Rosie Huntington-Whiteley x Wardrobe.NYC double breasted blazer dress featuring a nipped in waist, styled with a matching mini skirt from the same collection—a look Rosie herself wore recently at Tiffany & Co.’s ‘Windows of Wonder’ event in London earlier this month.
After their speeches, Kelly and Beyonce welcomed Kamala Harris onto the stage as Beyonce’s ‘Freedom’ played—an anthem that has become a signature for Harris’s campaign.
