Burberry celebrated the reopening of its East 57th Street flagship store with a cocktail event in store, followed by an intimate dinner at Jean’s hosted by Chief Creative Officer Daniel Lee.
The celebration was attended by friends of Burberry including Agyness Deyn, Cara Delevingne, Cher, Georgia Fowler, Grace VanderWaal, Iris Apatow, Isaac Powell, Jasmine Tookes, Jharrel Jerome, Jemima Kirke, Jeremy O’Harris, Jodie Turner-Smith, Kaitlyn Dever, Maya Jama, Nicky Hilton, Shanina Shaik, Taylor Hill, Thomas Doherty, and Tyra Banks.
First opened in 1978, the East 57th Street store is set over three floors. Featuring collaborations with British artists, bespoke design touches and nods to London architecture, the space at once offers a modern take on classic British luxury and an opportunity to explore the brand’s storied heritage.
The window displays feature a detailed set inspired by British landscapes and advertising from Burberry’s archive, aspects of which are revisited in-store as part of an exhibition exploring Burberry’s heritage.
Burberry’s East 57th Street store reopening coincides with the launch of ‘It’s Always Burberry Weather’, a cinematic campaign consisting of a series of warm and humorous vignettes and portraits honouring Burberry’s over 165-year history as a pioneer of outerwear. A stellar cast from music, film, fashion and football features Barry Keoghan, Cara Delevingne, Cole Palmer, Eberechi Eze, Little Simz, Olivia Colman, and Zhang Jingyi in key outerwear styles, reimagined.
Here’s a slideshow of the most notable guests in attendance, and as expected, there were plenty of trench coats and the classic Burberry check.
