If you were to ask me what I am most enamoured by here:  Danielle’s smile, or her Emilia Wickstead Spring 2024 dress, my answer would be simple: both.

The column silhouette, amplified by layers of folded fabric that gave the dress a fringed effect, added a touch of whimsy while maintaining a classic feel. The slight nipping at the waist gave the look a subtle structure, making it flattering from every angle. I’m adding this look to Danielle’s Hall of fame.

The Piano Lesson Screening

For the film’s main screening, Danielle opted for another intricate look with a white Chanel Spring 2023 Haute Couture coat. The tiered design of the coat added depth, but it took some warming up to, as it initially came across as slightly aging. However, the look grew in its appeal the more I examined the detailing and craftsmanship. Paired with Giuseppe Zanotti sandals and a delicate, antique-inspired choker, the ensemble was both sophisticated and regal, though the accessories may have contributed to its more mature tone.

Danielle’s ability to move between bold, modern silhouettes and timeless couture made both of her London Film Festival appearances stand out.

Thom Browne designs can be hit or miss, especially when we see a slew of them in quick succession, which can make them blur together. However, I’m always intrigued by a fresh interpretation of his signature style, and this look delivered just that.

Featuring a belted long-line blazer, ankle-length skirt, and matching gingham check tights, this ensemble broke away from the usual Thom Browne tropes. Gone were the familiar three stripes, schoolgirl pleated skirts, and boucle fabrics. Instead, this look felt like a breath of fresh air—offering something new and different, while still embodying the brand’s structured elegance.
