Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton attended ‘The Room Next Door’ premiere during the New York Film Festival on Friday, alongside director Pedro Almodóvar, where they reunited after Tilda took over the promotional duties by herself during the San Sebastian Film Festival.
In a striking display of minimalist elegance, both Julianne and Tilda embraced black ensembles with playful fringed accents, punctuated by bold pops of red.
Julianne Moore opted to reverse her v-back Khaite Resort 2025 dress, but it’s the fringed skirt lending the dynamic quality to the otherwise classic silhouette. Her bold red lip added just the right amount of vibrancy, making her look both timeless and contemporary.
Tilda Swinton’s choice of an Alaïa black top with fringed sleeves paired with a flowing black silk skirt showcased a refined aesthetic. The addition of red Alaïa Design A pumps injected a dash of colour that perfectly complemented her outfit, proving once again that Tilda excels when adorned by the right designer, with the silver cuffs adding a slight edge.
I don’t know about you, but it’s clear that Tilda’s recent Alaïa ensemble stands out as her best since Venice. After earlier attempts with Delpozo and Chanel Haute Couture fell short of expectations, Alaïa has successfully tapped into Tilda’s style USP.
I love this unified vision for both women. It created such a powerful statement without saying anything at all.
