On Monday night, Selena Gomez joined Zoe Saldana on the red carpet for the ‘Emilia Pérez’ premiere held during the 2024 New York Film Festival, wearing a custom Vera Wang black silk crepe gown that captured attention with its timeless elegance.
The dress featured a cowl neck column silhouette and halter design, perfectly complemented by semi-sheer off-the-shoulder sleeves that added a sultry touch.
I particularly love the slinky silhouette—it’s understated but striking, allowing Selena’s natural poise to shine. However, one element left me a little undecided: the bow.
Initially, it gave me “Fergie bow” vibes, but on closer inspection, it’s clear the bow accents the neckline, not Selena herself. It’s a choice that leans toward bold, but I can’t help but think a smaller, subtler bow might have been the more elegant and less distracting direction.
Accessories-wise, Selena opted for Tiffany & Co. jewelry, including platinum earrings adorned with diamonds, a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Bird on a Rock ring, and multiple Tiffany Victoria® rings. The diamond pieces elevated the entire ensemble, adding just enough sparkle to bring out the gown’s luxurious simplicity.
With just a few tweaks—a reimagined bow—I would have been 100% on board, rather than just 90%. But even so, I love how the look brought her usual charm and sophistication to the red carpet.
What do you think about the bow—bold choice or too much for the look?
