Taylor Swift was spotted arriving at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City to support her beau, Travis Kelce, during the Kansas City Chiefs vs. New Orleans Saints game on Monday, where Taylor not only cheered on Kelce’s eventual 26-13 victory but also made a style statement.
Hot off her appearance at the VMAs, it seems Taylor is embracing a plaid era. And in true Taylor fashion, she’s doing it her way—this time with a nod to one of the most rebellious British labels, Vivienne Westwood. The red check print she sported is instantly recognizable from Westwood’s Fall 2024 collection, where corsets, kilts, and tailored pieces drew inspiration from traditional Scottish attire, as Chloe Sevigny, another star known for her edgy fashion choices, has also been spotted in similar pieces recently.
Taylor’s look featured the Vivienne Westwood Sunday draped corset paired with the Meghan mini skirt—both inspired by the kilts from the Scottish Highlands of the late 16th century. This playful yet structured outfit is exactly the kind of ensemble that suits her pop-princess persona. It also channels a unique take on the “cheerleader” aesthetic, making it perfect for an NFL game without veering into cliché territory.
While her EFFY and Cartier jewelry added a delicate touch of glamour, the Vivienne Westwood Bella Heart Frame velvet shoulder bag felt a bit mismatched. The vintage vibe didn’t quite flow with the rest of the ensemble, which leaned more into punk rebellion than soft romance. On the other hand, her Vivienne Westwood Grace platform boots—though not my personal favourite—amplified the look’s edgy undertones, staying true to the rebellious spirit of the label.
Taylor’s latest style chapter, full of tartan and tailored rebellion leaves me wondering—what’s next in her plaid playbook?
