Diane Kruger attended the tribute to Director David Cronenberg during Day Four of the 2024 Marrakech International Film Festival on Monday, wearing a dress from the Christopher Esber Spring 2025 collection. At first glance, I wasn’t entirely sure what to make of this dress. One thing is for certain: this is a departure from Diane’s usual style.
For those who shy away from cut-out details, the gold sculptural element holding the dress together could win you over. It’s undeniably striking and adds an artistic edge to the look. But let’s be honest—if you have a background in biology, you might be distracted by its resemblance to a diagram of the female reproductive system. It’s a bold design choice, but it’s certainly memorable.
What’s holding me back from fully embracing this look might be the grey hue. While the draping is beautifully executed, with the skirt folds back onto itself, the colour feels flat. A richer tone – brown or green – might have elevated the aesthetic.
That said, I can’t fault Diane for experimenting. The design itself is intriguing, and the drapery is a standout feature.
While this might not be my favourite look of hers, I appreciate the attempt to do something unpredictable.
One element I do love, however, is the red hair.
