The 2025 WWD Style Awards celebrated Tracee Ellis Ross on Friday night, honouring her with the Fashion Trailblazer Award at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills.
Fittingly, Tracee embodied her trailblazing spirit, stepping onto the red carpet in a grommet-embellished jumpsuit from the Alaïa Fall 2023 collection.
This jumpsuit, with its edgy detailing, felt like a quintessential Tracee moment—bold, confident, and unmistakably chic. On the runway, the piece leaned toward sheer, but Tracee’s appears more opaque. Opting not to take a risk, the leather fringe belt offered a modest layer but also elevated the ensemble with her signature flair.
While the jumpsuit was a hit, let’s talk accessories.
The Saint Laurent black patent leather and PVC Riqua slingback pumps brought the perfect touch of vampy elegance to the look. However, the white Alaïa Le Teckel bag left me scratching my head. For me, it felt out of place amidst the darker tones and edgy vibe of the rest of the outfit.
Still, Tracee’s ability to transform runway pieces into uniquely personal statements is what makes her a true style icon.
