Dakota Fanning attends the 30th Annual Critics Choice Awards

No awards season red carpet is complete without a little (or a lot of) Dolce & Gabbana. The Italian design duo delivered once again, dressing an array of stars at the 2025 Critics’ Choice Awards—some with more success than others.

A classic Dakota moment

Dakota Fanning, nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television for Ripley, stepped out in a custom strapless silk Dolce & Gabbana gown. I’m kinda struggling with exposed bustier. I wish the draping on the bodice started higher up to create a more seamless effect. Still, Dakota carries it with her signature poise.

Burgundy battle: Colin vs. Orlando

Colin Farrell, who won Best Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television for The Penguin, opted for a deep burgundy Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2025 suit. While Orlando Bloom was twinning in a full monochrome moment, Colin’s approach was slightly more nuanced—the single-breasted jacket was a darker shade than his silk shirt and trousers. A rich, sophisticated look that suits him well. My only question is, why is no one committing to the sailor shirt collar?

Tailoring perfection

Takehiro Hira, nominated for Best Supporting Actor for Shōgun, wore a Dolce & Gabbana double-breasted jacket so perfectly tailored, it deserves its own award. Paired with a matching grey turtleneck, this look oozes quiet luxury. Obsessed.

Timeless and Classic

Rufus Sewell, nominated for Best Actor in a Drama Series for The Diplomat, went the classic route in a navy Dolce & Gabbana Sicilia-fit double-breasted suit with a crisp Martini-fit button-down. Timeless, sharp, no notes.
