Lupita Nyong’o made her grand return to the BAFTAs—her first since her stunning Dior Haute Couture moment in 2014 and her elegant Elie Saab Haute Couture look in 2018. This year she was attending as her film, The Wild Robot was nominated.
The actress graced the red carpet in a custom Chanel Haute Couture black-and-white creation that was quintessentially Chanel. From the colour palette, bow-accented neckline to the airy, wispy tulle maxi skirt, this look blended timeless elegance with Lupita’s playful spirit. I didn’t catch the live stream, but I just know she gave that skirt a twirl—it’s practically begging for it.
Since becoming a brand ambassador, Lupita’s wardrobe has leaned way more monochrome than the vibrant hues we all adored. But honestly? I think this is her best Chanel look yet. The balance softness, the classic palette, and the hint of whimsy—it all worked perfectly in her favour.
Hassanzadeh Jewellery added the perfect finishing sparkle.
So, has Lupita finally cracked the Chanel code? I say yes. Do you agree?
