Mikey Madison was also honoured with the Virtuosos Award during the 2025 Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Sunday, where she continued her love affair with red—after a brief black-and-white detour at the Critics’ Choice Awards.
The Anora actress wore a Proenza Schouler Rumi pleated gown from the Spring 2025 collection, a design that perfectly married elegance with a modern edge. The flowing silhouette and intricate topstitching gave the gown a sophisticated feel, while the twisted detail at the front seamlessly transitioned into a fluidly draped cape. It was refined, yet far from boring.
Given how most of you weren’t exactly fans of the open-front design of Moeka Hoshi’s Louis Vuitton gown at the Critics’ Choice Awards, I imagine there’s a collective sigh of relief here. The drama of Mikey’s look came from the structure and movement rather than any daring cutouts, making this an easy win.
Keeping things simple and polished, Mikey opted for neutral makeup, a sleek updo, and delicate Tiffany & Co. jewels. While I wouldn’t have minded a slightly bolder lip to match the richness of the gown, the overall effect was undeniably elegant.
Another strong red carpet moment for Mikey, proving that red might just be her power colour. Now the question is: will she keep the streak going?
