Millie Bobby Brown Wore Giorgio Armani To 'The Electric State' Madrid Premiere

Millie Bobby Brown is fully committed to her ‘90s fashion era, and for The Electric State premiere in Madrid, she took a direct page out of Gwyneth Paltrow’s 1998 playbook.

Wearing the same Giorgio Armani beaded ice-grey dress that Gwyneth wore to the Shakespeare in Love New York premiere, Millie even went as far as styling it with a navy velvet shawl draped over her arms—because if you’re going to do a reference, why not go all in?

At this point, I’m convinced this press tour isn’t just a tribute to the ‘90s; it’s a tribute to blonde icons of the decade. Pamela Anderson, Britney Spears, and now Gwyneth? That’s three in one week. Is Christina Aguilera Dirrty look next?

While I love the commitment to a theme, I can’t say the execution is working in her favour this time. The dress does nothing for her here. The colour washes her out, it’s unflattering, and that harsh shade of blonde isn’t doing her any favours. Add in the heavy makeup that ages her up dramatically, which appears to be by design, and this is shockingly bad.

I appreciate the nostalgic nods, but fashion homages only work when they feel like an evolution, not a carbon copy. If you’re going to reference the Gwyneth Paltrow moment, you need to elevate it—not make it look like an uninspired costume.
