Carey Mulligan made a guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night, where she talked about being appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire by the King for her acting achievements. Frankly, I would’ve given her the honour just for her epic 2024 awards season fashion alone—specifically, that unforgettable Armani Privé gown.
She also touched on her husband Marcus Mumford’s new Mumford & Sons album Rushmere, their upcoming tour, her new film The Ballad of Wallis Island, and she even teased her role in the next season of Beef.
The British actress wore a Bottega Veneta Spring 2025 look. I know many of you weren’t sold on Nicole Kidman’s Bottega Veneta moment yesterday, but I have a feeling you’ll be salivating—just as I am—over Carey’s look.
It’s the everything for me.
Carey has a tendency to reserve her most jaw-dropping looks for awards season, but this time, she started her press tour strong with this uniquely sculptural, scalloped-edged, layered jacket, and flared trousers combo. It’s giving chic executive. High-powered. Effortlessly in control. The kind of outfit that makes you want to start a boardroom meeting just to show off.
If you are wondering why Carey is wearing the coat over her shoulders, it’s because her asymmetric top features a draped detail which falls down her back.

As much as I adore colour, this is exactly how I’d love to dress if I were running a million dollar empire (or, you know, just casually stepping out for coffee). It’s sharp, sophisticated, and subtly subversive in that way only Bottega Veneta can deliver.
The sleek new hairstyle? A flawless complement to the polished aesthetic.
Finishing touches? Bottega Veneta Sofia pumps and the Patti Intrecciato bag—because every executive powerhouse needs a structured, statement bag to complete the vision.
Carey just set the bar for power dressing in 2025, and I, for one, am completely on board.
