Yes, four days on and I still haven’t wrapped up the Vanity Fair Oscar Party—but can you blame me? This was the most attended event of the year. I swear it felt like there were more people at this event than most Met Galas. But to finally close the chapter and move on to the other events happening this week, I’m going to focus on just twenty of the remaining attendees.
A true golden goddess
As last year’s reigning—and returning—queen as a Best Supporting Actress winner, Da’Vine Joy Randolph was two for two on the night, and I’m really impressed at how both of her looks outdid last year’s. On this occasion, she looked breathtaking in a custom Valdrin Sahiti gold gown, crafted from the designer’s signature metallic fabric—the very definition of “golden goddess.” High glamour for the main event, and high shine for the after-party. I remain in awe.

Save. Our. Ciara.
I know a lot of you have given up hope of ever seeing Ciara impress us on the red carpet again, but I have been hanging onto the idea that she will rediscover what made her style so great—or at least return to the stylist who helped her achieve that status. However, when I saw her in this beaded and feathered sheer catsuit by Dsquared2, I officially, officially gave up hope. What the actual hell is going on here? And from the neck up, she is so gorgeous. Someone help her, please. SOC: Save Our Ciara. Someone get Wayman and Micah on the case.

Now THIS should have been the main event dress
I had to feature H.E.R. in this final roundup after we were all so opposed to her Ralph Lauren equestrian-inspired gown for the main event, because she looked breathtaking in this custom Valdrin Sahiti. THIS should have been her main event gown. But we all know that the larger labels have pull, and this is a classic example that proves bigger doesn’t always mean better. I adore how the tulle bodice sculpts the silhouette before the gown begins to drape from the hips in lush velvet. I can’t gush about this moment enough.

Vintage that never fails
Jenna Ortega followed the trend of dipping into the archives with this vintage Donna Karan Collection gown, proving just how timeless the designer’s pieces are. I adore the colour and how the drapery hugs her curves. Pomellato jewels completed her look.

Some things are better left in the archives
Keke Palmer continued her run with vintage looks this awards season, but sadly, this Atelier Versace gown is my least favourite. From the exposed belly button to the way the dress falls from the skirt, this one could have stayed in the archives.

A Mugler moment
Kendall Jenner is no stranger to the archives, and she looked beautiful in this Thierry Mugler Spring 1992 black rubber lace dress with long pagoda sleeves from the Cow Boys collection. The Mugler archives remain unmatched for me.

Queen of the Mugler archives
Laverne Cox, aka CEO and Queen of the Mugler archives, wore yet another Thierry Mugler masterpiece that has stood the test of time. As gorgeous as she looks in this dress, I’m low-key wishing Cynthia Erivo had worn this during her press tour for Wicked. It is giving serious Elphaba energy—mostly because of that high collar, which isn’t too dissimilar from the collar we saw on Cynthia’s Louis Vuitton gown.

Shockingly understated
Simple, clean, and elegant—it’s almost hard to believe that Lindsay Lohan is wearing Balenciaga Couture. Who knew the brand had some subtlety left in them?

A comeback worthy of a scream
I screamed when I saw Lizzo in this stunning Christian Siriano gown. I knew her comeback was going to be a moment that left us in awe, and this crinoline strapless gown accented with a bow was better than I had envisioned.

Wayman and Micah did what they could
Mary J. Blige worked with Wayman and Micah for this event. At this point, we have to assume that what we see on the red carpet is purely a matter of personal taste. I love Gaurav Gupta as a designer, but this is gaudy and dated beyond belief, and for Mary, I’m unfortunately not surprised.

Silver Double For Mindy
When I saw Mindy Kaling at this event, I assumed she had opted to wear Oscar de la Renta twice in one night because this crescent-bodice embellished strapless dress reminded me of Jessica Chastain’s 2023 Golden Globe Awards gown. So, colour me surprised to learn that it was Elie Saab. Pomellato jewels completed her look.

Redemption
Monica Barbaro immediately redeemed herself from the Dior gown she wore at the main event with this custom Dolce & Gabbana strapless gown embroidered with Swarovski crystals. Honestly, I strongly feel this should have been her main event dress. But I guess, considering this is the silhouette she favoured during the A Complete Unknown press tour, she wanted to do something different.

A new(ish) silhouette enters the chat
Olivia Rodrigo defaulted from her signature silhouette in this Roberto Cavalli Fall 2025 leather dress, thanks to the fluted hemline.

Straight to bed after this
Olivia Wilde knew this was an evening event and decided to show up to the Vanity Fair Party in her nightie and matching lingerie panties, courtesy of Chloé. The look was styled with a Chloé Sea Treasures mini bag in vintage gold, Buccellati jewels, and Santoni sandals. Whatever makes you standout, I guess.

A sunshine moment
Rachel Brosnahan wore a tulle strapless mermaid gown from the Carolina Herrera Spring 2025 collection. You may or may not love this on account of the bright yellow hue, but this was a ray of sunshine for me, especially when styled with that Brilliant Earth necklace.

*Sighs*
This archival Alexander McQueen Spring 2011 gown should have been saved for someone:
A. Taller.
B. With more presence on the red carpet.
C. Who knew how to sell it.
In my opinion, Rachel Zegler is being swallowed whole by the complexity of the fabric, which has such a unique romantic yet deconstructed quality. I’m also really hoping she has gotten this color out of her system before her Snow White press tour. A month of this hue on repeat might just send me over the edge. It wasn’t a great night for Rachel.

Serena returns to form
I had started to worry about Serena Williams‘ style, but she was back to her glamorous best in this Dolce & Gabbana strapless embellished gown.

The exception to the rule
Belly button and visible nipple covers aside, Teyana Taylor is perhaps the only person who can make this LaQuan Smith creation work. I don’t make the rules.

Maybe next time, Tracee
Seeing Tracee Ellis Ross in this Alexandre Vauthier Couture fringed and feathered kaftan, I’m even more convinced that she should have worn Sarah Paulson’s Marc Jacobs dress.

A reminder that fashion should be fun
I loved Zoey Deutch’s lemon Tamara Ralph Spring 2025 Couture gown. The ostrich feather pom-poms and the colours reminded me of how much fun fashion should be. The accents suit her fun-loving personality. This was one of my favorites of the night, and the best way to conclude this post.
This Vanity Fair Oscar Party recap has been a marathon, not a sprint, but we have finally reached the finish line, for the women. Now, onto the men.
