If you’re going to embody a Disney princess, you might as well go all in, and Rachel Zegler certainly understood the assignment at the Alcázar of Segovia Castle in Spain on Wednesday. The Snow White star delighted audiences with a special performance of Waiting on a Wish, the first single from the film’s original soundtrack, creating a moment that felt straight out of a storybook.
The setting? Iconic. The Alcázar of Segovia is not only a medieval masterpiece, but it also served as inspiration for the castle in Disney’s 1937 animated classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. So, having Rachel grace this venue in a gown fit for a princess was nothing short of a full-circle fairytale moment.

And speaking of gowns—what’s a Disney princess without an exquisite dress? Rachel wore a custom Elie Saab Haute Couture (inspired by the Spring 2024 Haute Couture collection) white tulle and organza gown dripping in sequins, crystals, and 3000 flower petals. It’s a beautiful gown, even though I’m not a fan of the central slit.

Now, if you love a themed look as much as I do, then let’s gather in appreciation. Not only did Rachel wear a dreamy white gown, but she also carried a Judith Leiber Apple Sweetie clutch. A literal red apple in her hand? Genius.

The apple is the most symbolic object in Snow White—it represents her innocence, the poisoned deception of the Evil Queen, and the ultimate contrast between good and evil. But for us fashion lovers, this clutch was a playful, whimsical touch that took the look from “storybook theme” to “a theme with personality.” The dress was for the families who came to see a fairy tale come to life; the clutch was for us, the ones who live for a well-thought-out fashion moment.

Now, if Rachel and her team are committed to a Disney-princess-inspired press tour (which I really hope they are), I have one small request—let’s switch things up with the designers. Don’t get me wrong, Elie Saab does ethereal gowns like no one else, but they can be a little repetitive and samey in style. If we’re going full fantasy, why not bring in some Valdrin Sahiti drama, a Tony Ward dreamscape, Rami Al Ali elegance, or the intricate magic of Georges Chakra and Georges Hobeika?
For now, though, this was a moment worthy of a Once Upon a Time. With Saltanat Diamond Gallery jewels and Jimmy Choo shoes completing the ensemble.
So far, this press tour is going exactly how I envisioned it.
