Tyla knows her brand, and she knows it well. The Impact Award winner took over the 2025 Billboard Women in Music stage with a show-stopping performance of Push to Start before teasing new music (cue collective excitement from her Tygers). And in true Tyla fashion, her speech was heartfelt, reminding us why she’s a force beyond just her vocals.
She hit the red carpet in a Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2025 Haute Couture gown, designed by Ludovic de Saint Sernin, and depending on where you stand, you’ll either find it predictable or a masterpiece.
Honestly? I’m in both camps. Yes, Tyla in a skin-baring dress is nothing new. But in this case I’m not seeing it as a bad thing. This is what she does—sensuality, ‘90s supermodel energy, main character vibes—and she does it well. The weblike knit design felt fresh, sexy, and completely in line with her signature aesthetic. And confidence? Oh, she’s dripping in it. That’s what makes this look land so effortlessly.
Tyla is that girl, and this might just be one of my favourite looks from her. Add in her cornrows styled into a wavy updo, and it’s giving elegance, it’s giving edge, it’s giving Tyla at her best.
