Beyonce put her Cowboy Carter tour on pause to celebrate someone who’s been shaping her journey long before the music ever began—her mum. Tina Knowles’ memoir Matriarch officially launched last month, offering a deeply personal look at her upbringing in 1950s Galveston, Texas, her pivotal role in the music industry, and the sisterhood she’s nurtured through Beyonce, Solange, and Kelly Rowland. To celebrate the release, Tina hit the road for the ‘Matriarch: An Evening with Tina Knowles, Family & Friends’ tour, making a special stop at The Wiltern in LA where Beyonce turned up in support—despite being neck-deep in her global tour.
And while the stage Beyonce left behind is the leather chaps and yeehaw energy, her wardrobe pivoted dramatically for the occasion. She showed up in a structured look from the Mugler Spring 2025 collection. The grey dotted spiky neckline jacket alone is a masterclass in Thierry Mugler signatures—from its sharply sculpted tailoring, nipped in waist and strong shoulders to that very Mugler tradition of wearing it sans blouse. It’s vintage-coded but still reads so right now.

She doubled down on the power statement with a matching Fang bag, skyscraper Fang platform heels, and a pair of Bottega Veneta shades. A little incognito, a lot iconic.

With a break in her tour coming up on May 5, here’s hoping we get a Met Gala moment from Bey and Jay. Their take on the theme could be epic.
