For the late evening Cannes Film Festival premiere of La Femme La Plus Riche Du Monde (The Richest Woman In The World), Diane Kruger delivered a look that was equal parts elegance and edge.
Her custom Dolce & Gabbana gown was crafted in rebrodé lace, featuring a sculptural tulip skirt and romantic sweetheart neckline. Paired with black tulle gloves and a chiffon scarf, this instantly read as a love letter to old Hollywood.
And there’s more than meets the eye: beneath the dress, she wears a black satin bodysuit and black lace thigh-high boots

The white lace might divide opinion—I did find myself wishing it was black for a second—but considering how black tends to vanish in a sea of tuxedos and poor night lighting, this was a smart choice. At least we got to appreciate every lacey, sculpted detail.
A strong showing from Diane, giving us nostalgia with a side of unexpected drama.
