Heidi Klum Wore Elie Saab Haute Couture To The ‘Leave One Day’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

As many of us suspected, the so-called Cannes Film Festival red carpet “rules” were always going to be a polite suggestion rather than a hard line—and Heidi Klum was the first to prove it.

The L’Oréal ambassador strolled into the opening ceremony of the festival wearing exactly what wasn’t on the approved list: a dramatic train. But this is Heidi we’re talking about. If anyone was going to sidestep protocol with a cheeky twirl, it was going to be her.

This Elie Saab 1001 Seasons Haute Couture gown—strapless, slit-to-there, trailing behind her in a puff of pink gradient organza petals—couldn’t be more on-brand. The silhouette? Signature Heidi. The drama? Expected. The train? Practically a red carpet character of its own.

Honestly, what were they going to do? Throw themselves in front of her gown like she’s storming a football pitch? The Palais des Festivals is her catwalk, and she knows it.

It might not be “rulebook approved,” but it’s pure Heidi—unapologetic, extra, and totally in her element. Frankly, I love it.
