Cannes has always been the one time I could count on Julianne to switch gears—to park the black, set minimalism aside, and surprise us with something vibrant, architectural, or even just a little weird (in the best way).

But this year? That run appears to be over. In custom Bottega Veneta, Julianne served up a look that felt much more in line with her year-round uniform: black, chic, pared-back, and impeccably tailored.

Do I miss the Cannes unpredictability? Yes. Do I still love this? Also yes. The one-shoulder dress was elegant without trying too hard, and the knotted leather fringe detail falling down her back was a clever Bottega flourish that elevated the simplicity.

Chopard diamond drop earrings and Bottega’s Rocket mules kept the look cohesive, but let’s be honest—the real headline moment was Julianne, in this gown, framed by that glorious Cannes backdrop.

A quiet slay, but a slay nonetheless.
