It’s been a long journey with Margaret Qualley and Chanel. For years it felt like we were watching the same look rinse and repeat—different fabrics, same energy. As a Chanel ambassador, she often looked like she’d been styled by the same algorithm. Pretty? Sure. Exciting? Not really.
But something shifted during awards season, and I’m happy to report it wasn’t a one-off as the actress was an ethereal vision a she stepped out for the Cannes Film Festival premiere of Honey Don’t!.
Wearing a custom Chanel Haute Couture gown crafted from powder pink silk crepe and chiffon, accented with a black bow and a soft camellia at the waist, this look drew inspiration from Look 74 of the Spring-Summer 1990 Haute Couture collection—originally worn by Claudia Schiffer in her very first runway appearance.

With its delicate fabric and refined silhouette, the gown felt both ethereal and intentional—an embodiment of Chanel’s unique ability to reinterpret its storied past through a modern lens. This is where Chanel truly excels: not just in replicating archival beauty, but in translating it into something that feels entirely relevant today.
Her elegant updo tied everything together, letting the delicate drama of the gown speak for itself.

This might just be Margaret Qualley’s best Chanel look—ever. And maybe even her best look, full stop. Here’s hoping this version of Margaret x Chanel is the one that sticks.
