Following last night’s dreamy red carpet moment, Zoey Deutch returned for the Nouvelle Vague Cannes Film Festival photocall—and dare I say, I think I love this even more.
With Zoey portraying Jean Seberg in the film, the fashion narrative comes full circle as she steps out in a reproduction of a Chanel Spring 1956 Haute Couture bustier dress imagined by Gabrielle Chanel herself. And it’s not just inspired by the original—this is the exact dress worn in the film, a piece that now belongs to the Patrimoine de Chanel.
The silhouette, which harks back to the Breathless era, fuses two-tone striped taffeta with beige dotted organza in the most romantic way. Massaro even recreated a pair of shoes specifically for this outing, and the house undertook meticulous fabric research to get everything just right.
I was already swooning at first sight, but knowing the depth of craftsmanship and historical reverence stitched into every seam? This is the kind of fashion story that gets me excited.
It honours a cinematic icon, complements Zoey’s role, and still feels utterly fresh—not a trace of costume in sight. If this is any indication, we’re in for a stellar press tour.
Tiffany & Co. necklace and bracelet in platinum with diamonds, Tiffany Victoria™ Mixed Cluster earrings, and a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany & Co. Bird on a Rock ring completed her look.
Stylist: Elizabeth Stewart.
