Doechii had a major night at the 2025 BET Awards, taking home the Best Female Hip Hop Artist award—a well-earned win in what’s been a strong year for her musically.
But style-wise? This Miu Miu moment left me wanting more.
The red strapless top and pleated mini skirt — detailed with brown leather trims — felt all too familiar. You might recall that Gigi Hadid wore a similar look in yellow to the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere in New York last July, and it didn’t work for me then either. Unfortunately, this version didn’t offer much in the way of redemption. The colour wasn’t enough of a game-changer.
Following her Met Gala appearance, which many felt fell flat, this continues a streak of underwhelming red carpet looks from Doechii. I keep thinking back to her dramatic Valentino Haute Couture moment at Le Grand Dîner Du Louvre, or even her Paris Fashion Week appearances—she’s clearly capable of delivering something memorable.
I’m holding out hope for her next big style reset, because the potential is all there.
