Sydney Sweeney Burberry dress green bag Echo Valley

Sydney Sweeney has been making the Echo Valley press tour feel more like fashion week with eight back-to-back looks in New York that have kept us on our toes. While she hasn’t given us a singular theme, there’s definitely a narrative of experimentation, playful proportions, and a few nostalgic nods. So let’s break down each outfit.

Hotel Arrival

Before the official rounds began, Sydney gave us a quietly clever look in a Burberry dress that felt like a soft tribute to the house’s iconic trench coat. She added a flash of colour with a Burberry Junior Knight green bag, and the brand’s classic check print popped up on her Check Mews mules. A stylish yet low-key way to land in NYC.

Good Morning America

For her morning slot on GMA, Sydney channelled her inner Olive Oyl in a navy sailor-collared dress from the Coperni Fall 2025 collection. The layered white pleated skirt kept it fresh and youthful, but I can’t say the leather knee-high boots were the best choice. A white pump would’ve been a better fit for the preppy vibe of the dress.

Then she dialled up the attitude with an archival Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2005 blazer dress, styled with a tonal tie and satchel-like Magda Butrym Apolonia bag. It had a rebellious schoolgirl energy that didn’t feel too try-hard. It was a fun detour and felt very in step with this celebrities obsession with early-2000s Gaultier.

Press Junket Look #1

My personal favourite? This Oscar de la Renta Fall 2025 brown plaid co-ord. It’s smart, chic, and totally wearable (yes, I’d wear it myself). What elevated it even more were the pale blue pumps that cleverly picked out the soft blue stripe in the check, and that Oscar de la Renta Poppy bag was the perfect finishing touch. Effortless and quietly fabulous.

A Mugler short suit was also a standout, mostly thanks to that razor-sharp blazer. The nipped-in waist and plunging neckline delivered the kind of structure that reminds you why Mugler’s tailoring is in a league of its own. The shorts brought a playful contrast, but the blazer really did all the heavy lifting. It was confident, clean, and very on-brand for her.

Press Junket Look #2

The McQueen Spring 2025 outfit was a bit hit and miss. I loved the high-neck pale yellow chiffon blouse—it beautifully married McQueen’s romantic side with its more structured, modern edge. But the antiqued dark brown leather skirt felt too heavy and disconnected. It’s the kind of contrast that works on someone with more edge, like Milena Smit. For Sydney, it just felt off. The McQueen cat-eye sunglasses were fabulous, but the Mini Birdee bag and T-bar mules were also part of the disconnect.

Her second McQueen moment came from the Pre-Fall 2025 collection, and this look felt much more aligned with what we’ve come to expect from the actress. The black bustier was the standout piece—embellished with crystals, featuring a keyhole cut-out and a sharp peplum. That said, the trousers seen in the look book might have given her a bombshell with a twist moment.

She finished the outfit with classic black Jimmy Choo Romy pumps, McQueen City T-Bar shades and McQueen’s T-Bar box clutch.

But she quickly redeemed herself with another archival gem—this time, a Givenchy by John Galliano Fall 1996 Haute Couture look featuring a grey cropped suit jacket and an ultra–high-waisted pencil skirt adorned with delicate bows. This era of Galliano’s Givenchy remains a favourite among fashion lovers and stylists alike, and it was an elevated, pitch-perfect and unexpected moment for Sydney.

Sydney’s Echo Valley tour has been filled with surprises, some strong vintage pulls, a few modern hits, and some styling choices that could’ve been tighter. But all in all, she’s having fun—and it shows.

Which look was your favourite?
