Aggy K. Adams attended The Couple Next Door premiere in London this week, but judging by her look, you’d be forgiven for thinking it was late November. Or December. Possibly during a cold snap.
The actress wore a leather McQueen look from the Spring 2025 collection featuring an exaggerated buttonhole jacket and matching pencil skirt—dramatic, sculptural, and very much designed with colder months despite the spring label.
The only problem? It was 8th July. The temperature peaked at 77 degrees. No snow, no breeze, not even a hint of an autumn chill. And yes, there’s a sliver of a gap between the jacket and the skirt, and yes, theatres are air-conditioned, but it’s still far too much leather for a mid-summer red carpet.
I’ll never fully understand this trend of committing to the heaviest fabrics in the hottest weather, no matter how good the tailoring is. That said, credit where it’s due: she resisted the urge to finish the look with those signature McQueen caged boots. Small mercies.
