After a stylish string of press appearances—from New York to BBC Radio in London—Nicholas Hoult attended his first Superman premiere as the franchise’s villain, Lex Luthor.

Stepping out in Bottega Veneta, the British actor gave us a fresh take on a classic power move. His stylist, Jason Bolden, revealed that the look drew inspiration from Kevin Spacey’s version of Lex Luthor from the 2006 film, but this was far from a carbon copy. Instead, Nicholas served up a sleek remix that echoed Wall Street-era tailoring with a thoroughly modern update.

The oversized silhouette marked a noticeable shift from his usual slim-fit comfort zone, but it worked in his favour. There was an ease to this look that made it feel current without trying too hard. The details did the heavy lifting: Bottega Veneta’s Astaire loafers—complete with the brand’s signature metallic knot—and a Jaeger-LeCoultre timepiece rounded things off.

Sharp, slick, and confidently done. As expected.

Stylist: Jason Bolden.
