Julia Garner attended the Weapons world premiere at The United Theater in LA on Thursday. As one of Gucci’s most visible faces right now, she’s been front and centre during the brand’s transitional period—from Sabato De Sarno’s exit to the arrival of Demna.
So far, the partnership has delivered some striking red carpet moments, along with a standout campaign for Keep It Gucci: The Art of Silk. Naturally, expectations are always high—and this look from Gucci Resort 2026, the first from the collection to hit the red carpet, seemed promising.
With its one-shoulder silhouette, frilled trim, bow detail, and playful polka dots, this dress had real potential. But it missed its appointment with the tailor.
The hemline needed to come up by at least three inches. It’s a classic case of when ready-to-wear simply isn’t ready to wear.
That length issue was the only thing holding this back. The dress itself was a great fit for Julia’s style and would’ve been a stellar addition to her Gucci red carpet repertoire—if only the fit had been right.
