The W China Annual Gala has been a showcase of stunning gowns from Chinese and Hong Kong designers, but Zhou Dongyu chose a different path, serving a look rooted in timeless American elegance.
The actress wore a Ralph Lauren Purple Label Fall 2025 devoré gown, and it was the kind of piece that spoke in quiet luxury rather than high drama. The black floral design carried a court-inspired collar that felt regal, like a subtle nod to aristocratic dressing. What made it especially captivating was how it combined vintage romance with a sense of modern dark romanticism. There was an “old money” refinement to it, but softened by the dreamy floral pattern.

Zhou paired the gown with a Louis Vuitton Capucines bag, and elevated the look with a gold and diamond statement ring and matching earrings. With her hair swept into a chic updo, the whole effect was clean, sophisticated, and quietly commanding.

If some of the other gala looks leaned into theatrical fantasy, this one offered something different: understated glamour with a touch of gothic romance.
