Prada had a real presence tonight with seven looks gliding down the red carpet at the 2025 Emmy Awards. What I enjoyed most was the range: sugar-soft pastels, confident colour, and of course, the classic black-tie.
Scarlett Johansson wore a custom pastel yellow Prada strapless column gown. I love the colour and cut, especially because it feels unexpected from Prada, whose custom gowns are usually easy to spot a mile away. But I can’t ignore the heavy bronzer. I get why—yellow can wash out easily—but I wish it had been dialled back. De Beers Talisman diamond earrings and ring completed her look.

Colin Jost, nominated for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series for Saturday Night Live, went with a classic Prada black wool tuxedo. No surprises, but no complaints either.

Adam Brody, nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Nobody Wants This, wore a custom pale blue Prada tuxedo. The white ruched shirt and black bow tie kept it sharp and safely out of Lloyd Christmas territory. What I love most is how Adam never hides behind the standard black suit—he always brings personality. Prada black leather lace-ups finished the look.

Leighton Meester wore a Prada blush cloqué cut-out gown with silver detailing. The new auburn hair is gorgeous. I just wish the bodice-to-skirt transition was more seamless. Jared Atelier diamonds completed her look.

Fairytale Surrealism
Ruth Negga, nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie for Presumed Innocent, wore a custom Prada gazare gown inspired by Spring 2008 collection with James Jean illustrations. The surreal fairies and nature motifs felt refreshing and light—such a welcome mood on this carpet.

Tyler James Williams wore a black-on-black Prada double-breasted mohair tuxedo. Styled with a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany & Co. Bird on a Rock brooch, a Tiffany Cocktail watch and a Tiffany Knot ring, it was pared back compared to the flair he once brought to red carpets. Maybe it’s a new chapter, maybe just a quieter night, but I’m not sold on the fit. With Tyler’s strong shoulders and narrower frame, this suit isn’t really working in his favour.

Jake Gyllenhaal, nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie for Presumed Innocent, wore a custom Prada shawl lapel tuxedo. The black gilet felt unnecessary. Maybe it was added because he opted to go tieless, but less was more on this occasion.
