When I saw Sydney Sweeney on the red carpet for the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of Christy this evening, my first thought was: who keeps doing this to her, and why?
I’m not usually a fan of creases, but in the case of her bespoke Erdem Resort 2026 gown, the lookbook makes it clear they’re intentionally worked into the draped skirt. That part, I can accept.
My real issue a corset gown? Again?
We’ve seen this before. She wore something strikingly similar with Wiederhoeft’s Spring 2025 strapless silver satin corseted dress back in April, but this dress is so much more unappealing, maybe it’s recency bias.

Her incredible Miu Miu Met Gala look feels like a distant dream now.
Sydney is such a beautiful woman, yet she keeps getting stuck in this endless loop of satin corset dresses (the Danielle Frankel one was only last month, if you recall), and they do absolutely nothing for her.
Honestly, this one just made me angry.
