Anthony Vaccarello dressed eight celebrities in Saint Laurent for the 2025 Academy Museum Gala.
Be Careful What You Wish For
Zoë Kravitz is my girl, and brown is the colour of the moment — but even she can’t sell this Saint Laurent Spring 2026 gown to me. Yes, we’ve been longing for something beyond LBDs and lingerie-inspired dresses, but this is a lot of fabric for someone so petite.

Had it been in that lighter copper hue, I might’ve been on board, but honestly, I feel like I’m just trying to give my girl a lifeline here.

Attitude meets allure
I couldn’t think of a better fit in terms of dress, style, label, and attitude. Charli XCX embodied everything Saint Laurent stands for — dark romance, slinky confidence, and that elusive rockstar nonchalance. I love seeing a celebrity so aligned with a designer’s DNA. Her leather version was the right choice.

The essence of elegance
Zoe Saldana brought her trademark sophistication in Saint Laurent, wearing a fluid black halter gown that spoke volumes through simplicity. The draped construction framed her beautifully. It’s the kind of quiet glamour she leans towards when it’s not awards season.

Boho Hiatus
Given Olivia Wilde’s penchant for sheer boho dresses and plunging necklines, this Saint Laurent boxy black gown was a surprise — but one that totally worked. The sharp silhouette, high neckline, and structured shoulders gave her an unexpected edge.

The return of My Saint Laurent muse
Kodi Smit-McPhee made a welcome return to the red carpet, and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve missed him, especially in Saint Laurent — a label I’ve always said was made for him. He didn’t waste any time getting up to speed with the current trend, shelving his love for slim-fit silhouettes in favour of the languid, oversized aesthetic. It’s yet more proof of how tailor-made he is for Vaccarello’s vision. This was a reunion worth celebrating.

The Classics
Charlie Hunnam and Tom Blyth both went for classic Saint Laurent tailoring — clean lines, impeccable fit, and that Parisian edge.

And you’d be right to assume that I’m swooning over Tom’s sheer shirt and satin cummerbund. You’d also be right to think I wish the trousers weren’t so long.

A swing and a miss
Looking at Logan Lerman, two things spring to mind: one, Tahar Rahim’s tucked-in tie was influenced by Saint Laurent; and two, this outfit feels like it’s wearing him and the taffeta shirt is at fault. In the right hands — say, Tom Blyth’s — this could’ve been a win, but again, I think I might be reaching.
