Tessa Thompson attended a screening of Hedda during the London Film Festival at BFI Southbank on Sunday.
I’m kind of riding the fence when it comes to Tessa in this Erdem Spring 2026 mini dress.
On the positive side, this dress evokes a sculptural minimalism that feels very art installation meets couture draping. The twisted, ruched fabric almost mimics marble folds, giving it that statuesque, Greco-modern edge that works beautifully on Tessa, who always brings intellectual poise to fashion.
However, the crinkled texture and uneven gathering also read a little “bedsheet couture,” as the fabric could be interpreted as lightly rumpled rather than intentionally sculpted, depending on how you look at it.
I will give Tessa credit for her ability to carry this silhouette and keep it in the realm of thoughtful experimentation, but the styling — those rather uninspired shoes — and the randomness of the drape falling to the floor ultimately prevent me from loving the look.
That said, she absolutely has me from the thighs up.
Stylist: Karla Welch.
