i-D Magazine Appoints Clare Byrne Global Fashion Director

The Australian stylist Clare Byrne has been named i-D magazine’s global fashion director, the publication announced on Wednesday.

Byrne, who is based between New York and Europe, most recently served as fashion director of The Travel Almanac. Her editorial work has appeared in W Magazine, Interview, Vogue US, Dazed and WSJ, and she has styled and consulted for Marc Jacobs, Dior, Hermès, Calvin Klein and Chanel.

Byrne is i-D’s first global fashion director under editor-in-chief and chief brand officer Thom Bettridge, who assumed the role last year, and Karlie Kloss’s Bedford Media, which acquired the iconic British publication in November 2023 after its previous owner Vice Media Group filed for bankruptcy.

Byrne joins the bi-annual print publication as it commences work on its 376th issue.
