Nicolas Ghesquière dressed Louis Vuitton ambassadors and friends of the house for the 2025 Gotham Film Awards. And this is just the start, as we’re about to see a lot of Louis Vuitton from now until March.
Sharp Scarlet Precision
If there’s one actress poised for a Louis Vuitton marathon this award season, it’s Renate Reinsve. This custom Louis Vuitton red double silk column gown that made many of you think “Prada?” for a split second—until you remembered Renate’s LV ties. The sharp neckline, the structured waist, the architectural bow detail: it’s exactly the sort of silhouette Ghesquière builds so well. Clean, severe, and perfect for someone who doesn’t need too much drama to make an impact.

Early 00s Flashback
Chase Infiniti has been fascinating to watch because her Louis Vuitton choices always veer in wildly different directions. This time, the turtleneck velvet gown with padded shoulders and hip cut-outs sent my mind straight to the early 00s—not in the cool Tom Ford-Gucci way, but more “Paris Hilton era club promo flyer.” She has the confidence to pull off anything, but the look itself feels stuck in a time capsule. A rare miss for her.

So Heavy
Seeing Emma Laird back on the carpet is a treat, because she’s one of the few LV ambassadors—alongside Jennifer Connelly and Sophie Turner—who can genuinely sell the brand’s trickier silhouettes. But this graphite one-shoulder gown feels a bit bland for her. Thankfully the asymmetric draped cape give the look some personality. The Louis Vuitton High Jewelry Virtuosity Protection earrings completed her look.

Tiered Texture, Tried and True
Rose Byrne rarely misses a beat (unless she’s rocking a bedsheet), and this Louis Vuitton black sequinned tank-style gown paired with multi-layered tulle frills is exactly the kind of unfussy glamour she excels at. It’s simple, pretty, nothing revolutionary — but not everything needs to be. Sometimes you just step onto a red carpet, deliver a charming look, and keep it moving.

Cropped CONUNDRUM
Jeremy Allen White in Louis Vuitton should always be a recipe for cool ease, but this custom brown shawl-collar suit is… tricky. The cropped jacket is where I’m slightly unsure. It’s not that dislike it; it’s that this silhouette feels like it belongs on Noah Schnapp. The colour is great, the tie is sharp, but I need to sit and think about this jacket for a bit.
