The Fashion Awards were pretty underwhelming this year. I scanned the red carpet last night thinking, Is this really it? Nothing sparked joy, intrigue, or even a raised eyebrow. Clearly the pictures of Maura Higgins hadn’t landed yet.
My jaw genuinely dropped. This — this — is what The Fashion Awards should be about: audacity, theatre, and a willingness to actually create a moment. The clue is in the name after all. Maura walked in wearing a Robert Wun Fall 2025 Couture look that felt like a lifeline thrown into a sea of ‘meh.’
Maura has never been shy when it comes to showing skin, so this deconstructed pinstripe suit was practically created for her. The sculptural hips, the razor-sharp angles, the flashes of white against the pinstripe — it all comes together with that signature Wun precision. And the gloves and hat? They’re not accessories; they’re architecture. They take the whole thing from “look” to “vision.”

Yes, it was absolutely freezing in London — wet, windy, the usual winter misery — but Maura committed. And when someone commits at this level, I can only applaud. The tuxedo bag didn’t make it onto the red carpet, but its cameo in the behind-the-scenes shots was a delicious bonus.

I’m obsessed. The look, the body, the structure, the drama of the silhouette, the abs carved like a Renaissance sculpture… It’s everything I want from this event and everything the night desperately needed. Fashion is supposed to be fun, bold, a little mad — and thanks to Maura, this red carpet had a pulse.
